About the therapy
Oxygen, in two rhythms
Live O2 Adaptive Contrast builds on exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT). While you cycle, a mask delivers air that switches between an oxygen-enriched mode, at up to 35% oxygen compared with the 21% in everyday air, and an oxygen-reduced mode.
In the enriched phase, your blood carries more oxygen than it would at rest. In the reduced phase, your body is gently challenged to use the oxygen it has more efficiently. Moving between the two, several times in one session, is what gives the method its name.
You do not need to be an athlete. The intensity is yours to choose, and our team adjusts the session to your fitness and health.
The method
Two phases, repeated
Phase one
High oxygen
You breathe air enriched to as much as 35% oxygen while pedalling at a comfortable pace, so more oxygen reaches the blood and tissues than at rest.
Phase two
Reduced oxygen
The system briefly switches to oxygen-reduced air, similar to being at altitude. The body responds by working to use oxygen more efficiently.
