About the session
Your blood, live on screen
In a standard blood test, your sample is sent to a laboratory and you receive a page of numbers. Live blood microscopy is different: a fresh drop of blood is placed under a bright-field microscope and projected onto a screen at high magnification, so you can see your own red cells, white cells and plasma as they are.
Our doctor talks you through what you are looking at, such as the shape of your red cells and whether they are flowing freely or clustering together, and how this relates to your hydration, diet and wellbeing.
Many guests find it a memorable and motivating way to begin a program. It works best alongside laboratory testing, which gives the measured values a doctor needs to make clinical decisions.
What you may see
A conversation, with pictures
Your doctor will point out features like these and explain what they may suggest, and whether further testing would be useful.
Red cell shape
Healthy red cells tend to be round and even in size. Variation can prompt a closer look at iron, B12 or folate in a lab panel.
Clustering
Red cells stacking together can reflect dehydration or inflammation, and often changes with simple adjustments.
White cells
A look at the white cells of the immune system and how active they appear.
Plasma
The fluid around your cells, including any visible crystals or strands, which your doctor will explain.
Hydration and diet
A visual prompt for conversations about water, nutrition and lifestyle.
Change over time
Repeating the session at the end of a program lets you compare before and after.
